In Memory of Tina Osso, Founder of Shared Harvest Foodbank
A legacy of fighting hunger...

As Shared Harvest celebrates 42 years of service this year, we are also mourning the passing of our founder, Tina Osso. On July 2nd, 2025, Tina, in her own words, “moved on to the next thing”.
Tina spent the majority of her life fighting injustices and as she would say, poking the proverbial beasts. She found food insecurity in her community to be the most egregious. As a person of action, Tina got organized and got to work.
After years of finding ways to accomplish her mission of feeding people, in June of 1983, Tina officially opened Shared Harvest Foodbank. Shared Harvest now helps provide meals for more than 46,000 individuals each and every month. We are partnered with 112 member agencies throughout five counties in Southwest Ohio: Butler, Darke, Miami, Preble, and Warren.
For those that knew Tina, we share in your grief. For those that never had the opportunity to know her, you can be a witness to her legacy in every move that we, at Shared Harvest, make.
Please feel free to join us for a Celebration of Life Open House held at Shared Harvest Foodbank on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 2PM-6PM, at the Hunger Awareness Center.
