Many people wonder how Shared Harvest Foodbank can provide 8 meals for every $1.00 donated; let us tell you how! Your donation supports programs in which we rescue and distribute food from retailers, such as Kroger, Aldi, Target, Walmart, Meijer, and more. They support the delivery of USDA foods, funded through The Emergency Food Assistance Program, and food procured from our local foodbank association to more than 100 member agencies. Donations enable staffing of our SNAP Outreach Program, which provides nine meals for every one that we provide. With your donation, we can ensure that struggling senior citizens receive a nutritious package of food each month and that every Friday school-age children receive easy to prepare meals to cover the weekend with our BackPack Program.
